Last Known Activity:
Nick was my friend. He was like a big brother to me and I admired him. We worked together at the IVC PD from 91 till I retired in 2008. Off duty He took me a couple of times to the Horse Races. He and our wives met in Vegas a few times and had fun. He was one of the wisest men I've known. He had come from the Los Angeles Sheriffs Department a few weeks before I started at the IVCPD. Nick was a Policemans Police Officer, knowledgeable in all facets of Police work. He was grumpy, and yelled quite a bit. But he always said he was sorry for yelling. I laugh about it. He was the kinda fellow you didn't want to disappoint.
Nick Was old School Police. I could get the honest scoop about his character, and he was able to get mine. He always wanted me to get on the LA Sheriffs. Kept after me for years. Though I was tempted, I'd found my home at the IVCPD.
Well, Nick Passed away on his way back from Laughlin Nevada with his wife. She told us he had heart burn, and chest pains. He decided to let his wife drive the car. She drove Nick to Barstow Hospital where he passed away with a major massive Heart Attack.
Nick shared many personal things with me over the years. He was raising his second family of Sons. The boys were in football, and I think Basketball. They were superstars, and there Dad was putting them all through college. He shared with me some thoughts, He said it will take him to about 70 years old before he could retire from the IVCPD. He worked lots of side jobs as well. Hard working man. Great provider for his family.
Nick, I'd just like to say thank you for passing through my life and blessing me. You know what you did for me, and we helped each other like brothers do. I love you man. I wish you hadn't gone yet. I needed to talk to you first. I know I'll see you again. You were one of a kind my brother. Rest in Peace.
