Trooper Kevin Dobson was struck and killed by a vehicle while making a traffic stop on I-290 in Erie County at approximately 7:30 am.
Trooper Dobson had served with the New York State Police for 14 years.
Obituary
Beloved son of Richard E. and the late Donna J. (nee Fijas) Dobson Sr.; loving life partner of Bridgett M. Hastings; cherished father of Kevin Patrick Jr., Jamie Kathleen, Brooke Lauren Dobson and step son Andrew Hastings; caring brother of Richard E. (Melissa) Dobson Jr.; also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. The family will be present on Wednesday and Thursday from 4-8 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 5200 Sheridan Drive (corner of Hopkins Road). Funeral Services will be held on Friday from the Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church, 8445 Greiner Road, Williamsville at 11 AM. Friends invited. Please assemble at the Church. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the New York State Troopers PBA, Signal 30 Fund, 120 State Street, Albany, NY 12207.

Trooper Kevin Dobson was struck and killed by the driver of a vehicle while making a traffic stop on I-290, at Colvin Boulevard in Erie County, at approximately 7:30 am. He was transported to Kenmore Mercy Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. Trooper Dobson had served with the New York State Police for 14 years.
