Harry was an officer with the Michigan State Police Department. Detective Sergeant Sorenson was the 32nd Michigan State Police officer to die while in the line of duty.
Detective Sergeant Sorenson was killed in an automobile accident when his unmarked car crossed the center line of US 41 in Michigamme, Michigan, and struck another vehicle.
