Fallen Hero.
Byron was an officer with the Michigan State Police at the Adrian Post. He was the 44th Michigan State Police officer to die while in the line of duty. He was survived by his wife and son.
Trooper Byron Erickson died from injuries sustained in an accident on July 2, 1993. The accident occurred during the pursuit of a felon. The felon was later apprehended and sentenced on multi-jurisdictional warrants. Trooper Erickson had served with the agency for four and a half years. He was survived by his wife and son.
