Comments/Citation:

Detective DeBruno was shot and killed while he and his partner attempted to serve warrants on a man wanted for murder in Canada. Detective DeBruno was shot in the chest during the arrest.

Detective DeBruno's partner and the suspect were also shot and wounded in the shootout.

The suspect (Roy Embry) was sentenced to life in prison, but becomes eligible for parole in 2006. His parole was denied. He has another hearing in December, 2007 and again denied in 2012.
