Trooper Jorge Dimas succumbed to automobile accident injuries sustained one month earlier while on patrol on State Highway 35, near Frederic, Wisconsin.

He was turning around to stop a traffic violator when his patrol car was broadsided by an oncoming pickup truck.

Trooper Dimas had served with the Wisconsin State Patrol for only one year. He is survived by his fiancee and son.

   
Comments/Citation:

Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper Jorge Dimas died in the line of duty on Sunday, June 14, 2009. Trooper Dimas succumbed to injuries he sustained from a patrol car crash while on patrol on State Highway 35, near Frederic, Wisconsin, on May 9, 2009.


Trooper Dimas began his career with the Wisconsin State Patrol on July 20, 2008, and was assigned to his native Polk County. He lived in Amery.


Trooper Dimas, 23, is survived by his parents, JauNita and Jorge Dimas and a son, Carson.
