Other Comments:
Today GPD had the opportunity to meet with Clara and listen to the story about her grandfather, William Nathan Hatcher.
Hatcher served 44 years with the Greenville Police Department and wore badge No. 1. Through all the years of his service, not a single complaint was ever filed against him. For years he was a traffic officer and was stationed on Main Street until the inauguration of electric traffic signals. Hatcher would later be assigned to the City park playgrounds because of his kindliness and the ability of handling children.
