Other Comments:

I knew Gerry since I was six-years old.  He was the father of my best friend growing up..  They lived down the street from us and I spent alot of time with them over the years.  I remmber when I was in elementary school I was really intimidated by Gerry.  He was built like a football player, seemed so "business-like" and of course, he was a Cop!  By the time I was in Junior High School I suddenly began to see he was really a nice guy and a deicated Police Officer.  Gerry, and his wife Shirley were great parents and raised two really great kids (Dave & Chris).  I can still remember when his son Dave got married, the parking lot of the Reception Hall was loaded with Pontiac  Police cars  as I think the entire Dept. stopped by to visit.

I visited Gerry and Shirley several times after he retired and moved to Waterford.  He was a really good man and a very deicated Police Officer.  I miss them but have a "world" of great memories of all the grood times I had with them.  Dave and I are still good friends and I see in him many of the same qualities I admired in his Dad.  I am so lucky to have known Gerald Navarre and will fondly remember him as long as I live.
