Michael Lamb was born in Portland, OR on October 30, 1955. He began his public service career at the age of 18 as an EMT and operated an ambulance, while at the same time he was a firefighter. In 1978, he attended Paramedic school at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital at UCLA. At that time the paramedic program was in infancy. He then continued his paramedic career after moving to Oregon in 1981. In 1982, he began his career with the Lane County Sheriff's Office as a reserve officer and then went full time in 1984. He retired in 2009 from the Lane County Sheriff's office, but continued doing background investigations and working at the courthouse until being stricken with Leukemia. Michael lost his valiant battle with Leukemia on August 22, 2011 and is survived by sons: Nicholas and Ryan Lamb; granddaughter Angela; sister, Linda Shreve of Veneta; and mother Ruth Berkley of Florida.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Eugene Christian Fellowship, 89780 North Game Farm Road, Eugene, OR.
